نظرية التقريب الشامل

نتيجة نظرية أثبتها جورج سايبنكو وكرت هورنيك (وآخرون) في أواخر الثمانينيات، تُبيّن أن شبكة عصبية أمامية بطبقة خفية واحدة وعدد كافٍ من الوحدات يمكنها تقريب أي دالة مستمرة على فضاء مضغوط بأي دقة مطلوبة، وأسّست شرعية الشبكات العصبية نظرياً.

A theoretical result proved by George Cybenko, Kurt Hornik, and others in the late 1980s showing that a feed-forward neural network with a single hidden layer and enough units can approximate any continuous function on a compact domain to arbitrary precision, providing the theoretical legitimacy of neural networks.
