شبكة عصبية هرمية اقترحها كونيهيكو فوكوشيما عام 1980، بطبقات متعاقبة من الخلايا البسيطة والمعقّدة تحاكي القشرة البصرية عند هوبل وفيزل، وتُعدّ السلف المباشر للشبكات العصبية الالتفافية الحديثة.

A hierarchical neural network proposed by Kunihiko Fukushima in 1980, alternating simple and complex cell layers inspired by Hubel and Wiesel's model of the visual cortex, and widely regarded as the direct precursor of modern convolutional neural networks.
