ظاهرة تحدث عندما يستمر أداء البحث في التحسّن على المهام البديلة الصغيرة بينما ينخفض الأداء على المهام الأكبر، مما يشير إلى أن الخوارزمية المُكتشفة تكيّفت بشكل مفرط مع خصائص المهمة البديلة.
