مجموعة من الخلايا في النيوكوغنيترون تتشارك جميعها أوزان الاتصال ذاتها، فتكتشف السمة نفسها في مواضع مختلفة. وهذا هو النظير المبكر لمرشّح واحد يُنتج خريطة سمات في الشبكة الالتفافية الحديثة.

A group of cells in the Neocognitron that all share the same connection weights, detecting the same feature at different positions. This is the early counterpart of a single filter producing a feature map in a modern CNN.
