حدٌّ أدنى على احتمالية لوغاريتم البيانات يُشتَق من تقريب التوزيع اللاحق. تحسين هذا الحد يُحسِّن النموذج. في شبكات الاعتقاد العميق، كل طبقة جديدة تُضيَّق هذا الحد.

A lower bound on the data log-likelihood derived from an approximate posterior. Improving this bound improves the model. In DBNs, each new layer provably tightens this bound.
