تقسيم الكلمات إلى وحدات أصغر من الكلمة الكاملة — كالجذوع واللواحق والمقاطع — بحيث تبقى الكلمات الشائعة كاملة وتُجزَّأ النادرة إلى أجزاء معروفة.
