نظام فيزيائي من لفّات مغناطيسية مترابطة بروابط عشوائية، ينتج عنه مشهد طاقة وَعِر بنهايات صغرى محلية كثيرة. استخدمه هوبفيلد نموذجاً للشبكات العصبية ذات الذاكرة الترابطية.
A physical system of magnetic spins with random couplings, producing a rugged energy landscape with many local minima. Hopfield used it as a model for neural networks with associative memory.
