بيئة لا يتلقى فيها الوكيل مكافأة إلا نادراً — كحصوله على نقطة واحدة فقط عند بلوغ هدف بعيد. الاستكشاف العشوائي يفشل غالباً في هذه البيئات.

An environment where the agent receives reward only rarely — such as getting a single point only upon reaching a distant goal. Random exploration typically fails in these environments.
