دالة فقد تساوي سالب لوغاريتم احتمالية البيانات المرصودة وفقاً للنموذج. تقليلها يعني جعل النموذج يمنح البيانات الحقيقية أعلى احتمالية ممكنة.

A loss function equal to the negative logarithm of the probability the model assigns to the observed data. Minimizing it makes the model assign the highest possible probability to the true data.
