مقياس متناظر ومحدود للمسافة بين توزيعين احتماليين، يساوي متوسط تباعد KL لكل توزيع مع متوسطهما، ويبلغ صفراً فقط عند تطابق التوزيعين.

A symmetric, bounded measure of distance between two probability distributions, equal to the average KL divergence of each distribution from their mixture, reaching zero only when the distributions are identical.
