Evaluation Function

دالة تأخذ وضعية (في لعبة أو بيئة) وتُعيد قيمة عددية تعبّر عن جودة تلك الوضعية. في برنامج صمويل كانت مجموعاً موزوناً لسمات الرقعة مثل عدد القطع والسيطرة على المركز.

A function that takes a state (in a game or environment) and returns a numerical value estimating how favorable that state is. In Samuel's program, it was a weighted sum of board features such as piece count and center control.
